New Delhi: Asaram's interim bail plea has been sought to be adjourned for tuesday. Asaram, who is serving a life sentence in Jodhpur Central Jail in connection with the rape case, has filed an interim bail petition in the Supreme Court, which is scheduled to be heard on Tuesday, but sought postponement of tomorrow's hearing.

Asaram's lawyer Siddharth Luthra has demanded the court to adjourn the hearing of the case for a week. However, he is yet to explain the reason behind it and said the demand has been made for personal reasons. Earlier also, the hearing in the Supreme court in the case was adjourned when Asaram's lawyer had sought further adjournment from the court to file his reply on the reply filed by the Rajasthan government.

Meanwhile, the Rajasthan government has opposed the grant of interim bail to Asaram. Earlier, Asaram's interim bail plea was rejected in the Rajasthan High Court. Asaram was found guilty of raping a girl from his ashram in 2013 for which he was sentenced to life imprisonment.
