Hyderabad: BJP MP Prajya Thakur has come on the radar of opposition leaders over her objectionable statement 'We have not become MPs to clean drains and toilets'. AIADMK President and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has attacked MP Prajya Thakur from Bhopal Lok Sabha seat saying it is a direct challenge to PM Narendra Modi's "Clean India" campaign.
It is worth mentioning here that PM Modi had also cleaned the streets with brooms in his hands as part of the campaign. Some MPs, including Hema Malini, had also cleaned up the Parliament House recently. On the other hand, Owaisi has further said that Pragnya Thakur has given an open challenge to PM Modi's "Swachh Bharat Abhiyan" in his statement. At the same time, through this statement, she is also trying to show that she is from the Upper Cast. Those who clean the toilet are not equal to Sadhvi. '
Owaisi further said, "How will it create New India? Earlier, Pragnya Thakur praised Nathuram Godse and strongly criticised Hemant Karkare. In fact, they want the caste tradition to continue in India. Sadhvi Prajya had said at an event in Sihor district of Madhya Pradesh that "we have not become MPs to clear the drain, we will do the work for which we have been made MPs with all sincerity." This was the statement that caused a stir in the state.
