Mumbai: Today is Devashayani Ekadashi and this Ekadashi is also known as Ashadhi Ekadashi. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray along with his wife reached Lord Vitthal temple in Pandharpur on today's auspicious occasion. Here he offered prayers and prayed to the Lord for the peace and happiness of the country. Let me tell you that Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is also in the news these days for his political turmoil.

Talk about Lord Vitthal and he is considered to be the incarnation of Lord Vishnu and Krishna. They are mainly worshipped in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Goa, Telangana, and Andhra. Vitthalka is the main temple in Pandharpur in Maharashtra, and his wife's name is Rakhumai. Pandharpur is considered by devotees to be 'Bhu-Vaikunth' (the place of Vishnu's abode on earth). Due to the faith of the people, this temple is said to have not returned empty-handed from the court of Lord Vitthal.

You must all know that Devshayani Ekadashi is of great importance in Hinduism. Not only that but sometimes this day is also called 'Padmanabha.' In fact, when the sun comes in Gemini, this Ekadashi comes. In such a situation, Chaturmas is considered to be the beginning of this day which means that from this day Lord Vishnu will go to the Ksheer Sagar to rest, which is four months. As a result, there will be no auspicious work (marriage, planetary entry, taking a car) in these four months.
