Describing the cow as part of Hindu culture, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot targeted those who killed people by becoming cow devotees. He said that cow is our mother, our culture and culture is its important place. He said that no religion teaches nor accepts the killing of a person on the basis of the message.

In his statement, Gehlot demanded an open message from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders to stop mob lynching. He said that the Prime Minister once stopped speaking on this issue. If the PM's message was clear cut, then on the road, the alleged cowboys would not kill.
