Kabul: Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has fled the war-torn country after the return of the Taliban. Ghani arrived in Tajikistan's capital Dushanbe via a special Russian plane from the capital Kabul. But the Tajikistan government did not allow him to land. The Afghan President then moved to the Gulf countries.

Ashraf Ghani arrived in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with 51 people, including his family. The UAE government has confirmed that he is in the country and said he has been given shelter in the country on humanitarian grounds. His entire family, Afghanistan's NSA Mohib and Afghanistan's star cricketer Mohammad Nabi have also fled UAE along with Ashraf Ghani.

Ghani's family members are reportedly in UAE, including his wife Rula F. Saddah Ghani, his daughter Maryam and son Tariq Ghani. It has been reported that a total of 51 people have arrived in UAE special aircraft. Ashraf Ghani, on the other hand, is accused of running away with $169 million (Rs 1,250 crores). Ghani had already said that his life had been in danger since the Taliban returned to power.
