New Delhi: The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has opposed a petition filed by the Hindu side seeking worship at Qutub Minar. The ASI, in its reply filed in the Saket court, has said that the identity of Qutub Minar cannot be changed. In fact, a petition has been filed in Delhi's Saket court demanding the restoration of Hindu and Jain deities and the right to worship and worship inside the Qutub Minar complex.

The petition by the Hindu side has claimed that several statues of Hindu deities exist in the Qutub Minar complex. The ASI has filed its reply to this petition in the Saket court. ASI said that Qutub Minar has enjoyed the status of a protected monument since 1914. The ASI said that the identity of the Qutub Minar cannot be changed nor can worship be allowed at the memorial now. In fact, there has never been worship here since it was preserved.

ASI has said that the petitions of the Hindu side are not legally valid. The construction of the Qutub Minar complex by demolishing the old temple is a matter of historical fact. Right now, no one has the right to worship in the Qutub Minar. Since the Qutub Minar was taken under protection, there was no worship here, in such a situation, worship cannot be allowed here.
