Agra: On Thursday,ASI has issued a notification on the entry fee raise at India's monuments,- Taj Mahal ,which will be doubling for foreigners from Rs 250 to Rs 500,and extra Rs.500 as toll tax,it means the abroad visitors need to shell out is a prohibitive Rs.1,000.

For ‘A’ category monuments like Taj Mahal & Qutub Minar,the charges for domestic tourists hike from Rs.10 to Rs.30 and for ‘B’ category monuments the rates will be Rs.15 instead of Rs. 5 for Indians and from Rs. 100 to Rs. 200 for abroad visitors.

Interestingly, ASI has announced a new class for foreigners visiting 'A' and 'B' category monuments and for this they will have to pay Rs 750 and Rs 300 . For this, they will be provided with additional facilities specified by the director-general. Citizens of Saarc and Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation countries will be charged domestic rates.
