This is the first time that Indian women's team has failed to win gold in kabaddi and on Day 6 in the ongoing 11th edition of Asian Games 2018 India has settle for Silver after 24-27 defeat to Iran in Kabaddi.
On the other hand, the two times winner Men's team lost to Iran on Day 5 in the semi-finals and clinched the bronze medal. However there were expectations that women's team would show a better performance than their male counterparts and get that elusive Gold.
Worth mention here this is the first time in the history of the Asian Games that India haven't managed to clinch a gold either in men's or women's kabaddi.
India kicked off radiantly, taking a lead of 5 points at one stage. But Iran defense held their nerves and took three points in the final few minutes of the first half to close the gap to 13-11. In the second half, Iran’s defence continued to mess India and did not grant leave any space for them to get a point. After a frightened final minute, India gave away three points to witness a 27-24 defeat against Iran.
