The track and field players have shown their best performance since the 1978 in the ongoing 18th edition of Asian Games. Experienced Jenson Johnson and women's 4x400m relay team are the heroes on the last day of track and field competitions. India finished the competition with seven gold, 10 silver and two bronze medals. This is India’s best performance since 1978.

India won 13 gold so far
India had won 57 medals in previous games, but today its number of medalists reached 59, while the remaining two days of competition are still left. The number of gold medals taken by India has also reached 13, which is two more than 2014. Women's team won for fifth consecutive time

Chunka Thrower's experienced player, Poonia, achieved her bronze medal while performing her best of six years while she finished third with 62.26m throws. Seema was successful in winning the gold medal in 2014.
P.C. Chitra won the bronze in 1500 meters
Indian champion P. P. Chitra won bronze medal in the 1500 meter race. Chitra took the best time in Asia in the current season but she had to satisfy Bronze Medal with a time of 4 minutes 12.56 seconds.
