Asian Games 2018: India's women's squash team wins silver after losing to Hong Kong in the final

On the last day of ongoing 18, the edition Asian Games 2018 India’s women's squash team won the silver medal after losing to Hong Kong in the final. India lost the women's team final 2-0 to settle for silver. Joshna Chinappa and Sunanya Kuruvilla lost their matches due to this Dipika Pallikal missed the chance to play.

Joshna Chinappa has lost the first two sets 3-11, 9-11 to Wing Chi Annie Au of Hong Kong in the second match of the final. India trailed the tie against Hong Kong 1-0.

India crossed their best-ever Asian Games performance of 2010 edition after Amit Panghal won the gold medal in Men's Light Fly (49kg) boxing by defeating Rio Olympics champion Hasanboy Dusmatov of Uzbekistan and Pranab Bardhan with Shibhnath Sarkar clinched gold in bridge men's pair event. 

Taking to the micro-blogging website Twitter Rajyavardhan Rathore Minister of State (I/C) Youth Affairs & Sports and MoS (I/C) Information & Broadcasting, Govt. of India, who is also an Olympic  medalist, and Military Man congratulated the women team as saying,

“Another brilliant feat achieved by our women champions at Asian Games 2018. Girls of our Squash Team won Silver in the women's team Squash Finals. High Five to you ladies. You have made India Proud.”

At Jakarta and Palembang Asiad Games, India now has 67 medals including 15 gold, 23 silver and 29 bronze in its kitty.
