On the 11th day of sporting events at the 18th edition of the Asian Games 2018 in Indonesia India, at the 8th rank, have won a total of 50 medals so far including 9 Gold, 19 Silver and 22 Bronze medals.

On August 29, Wednesday the Indian Women’s Hockey team takes on China. India has a top spot in their Group after winning all the Pool B preliminary round matches. Now the women's hockey team will look to secure its place in the final.

Vikas Krishan entered semifinal of 75kg boxing while Medal assured in 49 kg boxing as Amit Panghal reached in semis after beating North Korean pugilist 5-0.

In Handball, India beat hosts Indonesia 37-23 in the men’s main round Group 3 match.

In Kurash, Megha Tokas of India won her Women’s 63 kg category against Gulshat Nasyrova of Turkmenistan to enter to the quarterfinals.

In Table Tennis pairing of Manika Batra and Sharath Kamal is through to Mixed Doubles Quarter-finals with 11-7, 7-11, 11-8, 10-12, 11-4 win over South Korea's J Jeon/S Lee.

On the other hand India’s 28-year-old Manjit Singh won gold in Men’s 800-metre competition, ending India’s 36-year wait in the 800m event at the ongoing sport carnival.

Pincky Balhara and Malaprabha Yallappa Jadhav bagged Silver and Bronze medals respectively in the -52kg Women's Kurash, following the debut at the Asian Games.
