On Saturday, Commonwealth Games gold medalists Bajrang Punia and Ravi Dahiya made it to the finals of the Asian Wrestling Championship being played at KD Jadhav Hall of Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium. Bajrang has been able to show unilateral games in the 65 kg category. He has defeated three of his opponents on the basis of technical efficiency. Asian Games gold medalist Bjarng defeated Tajikistan's Djamshed Sharifov 11-0 in the first match. He then defeated Abbos Rakhmonov of Uzbekistan 12–2 in the quarter-finals.

After this, Junior World Champion Iran's Amirhosen Maghahaudi came in front of Banjarag. In this match, Bajrang beat his opponent 10–0 to enter the final. Bajrang will now face Takuto Otuguro of Japan for the gold medal. Ravi defeated Yuki Takashi of Japan 14-5 in the first match of 57 kg. In the next match, the Indian wrestler defeated Tughus Batjargal of Mongolia 6-3 to advance to the semi-finals. The Nurislam Sanayev of Kazakhstan, the bronze medalist of the World Championship, stared in front of Ravi. Ravi won the match 7–2 and took on Hikamatulo Vohidov of Tajikistan in the final.

Apart from Bajrang and Ravi, Satyavrat Kadayan (97 kg weight) and Gaurav Balyan (79 kg weight category) have clinched silver medals. Naveen lost in the semi-finals in the 70 kg category. He is now going to face Marizhan of Uzbekistan for the bronze medal.
