Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of spreading falsehoods during the Lok Sabha elections as part of an "international conspiracy" aimed at removing Narendra Modi from the Prime Ministership. Sarma posed a question to Gandhi, asking why the post of Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha was not given to an OBC if Modi is an OBC, suggesting that Gandhi lacks answers to the questions he raises.

Sarma expressed confidence that the BJP would form the government in Haryana in the upcoming Assembly elections, citing positive responses from his meetings in Sonipat, Julana, and Kalka. "During the Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi carried a copy of the Constitution to all his rallies. Where has the Constitution gone now? He no longer claims it is in danger. He spoke about pension schemes and the Agniveer initiative during the elections, but now he doesn't mention them. Now he says he is in favor of abolishing reservations," Sarma stated.

In a separate campaign rally in Haryana, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami criticized the Congress party, alleging it has "left no stone unturned" in looting the state. Dhami highlighted various developmental projects like the Krishna Circuit, Harpa Circuit, and Saraswati Vikas Heritage Centre, asserting that Haryana's athletes bring glory to both the state and the country in the Olympics.

"There is a vision and resolve for development in Haryana under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. The Congress has done nothing but loot Haryana. During their rule, only the Chief Minister's area saw development, while people were robbed of their lands, and the corrupt practices of transfer and posting began. The Congress party is the most dishonest and deceitful party in the country," Dhami said while campaigning for BJP candidate Tejpal Tanwar in Haryana's Sohna.

Haryana is set to hold elections on October 5 to elect a 90-member state legislative assembly, with the counting of votes scheduled for October 8. In the 2019 elections, the BJP emerged as the single-largest party with 40 seats, while Congress secured 30 seats.
