Hyderabad Police have arrested Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for allegedly making disparaging remarks on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

A case has been filed at Hyderabad's Jubilee Hills police station under sections 504 and 505 (2) of the Indian Penal Code in response to TPCC president Revanth Reddy's complaint.

Earlier on Monday, the TPCC president filed a case with the Jubilee Hills police station against Assam's chief minister for uttering explicit statements about Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

Himanta Biswa Sharma has been charged with a crime, and Congress leaders have requested that he be arrested immediately. "The Assam Chief Minister's words are humiliating for a woman; why did the National Election Commission's Chief Electoral Officer not order Himanta Biswa Sharma's arrest?" asked Revanth. "Himanta Biswa should be removed from his position as Chief Minister by the BJP. The BJP, on the other hand, backs the Assam chief minister's views."

The president of the TPCC went on to declare, "Some claim it's a slur on the Gandhi family, but it's also a slur on the country's women. An FIR should be filed against our complaint as soon as possible." He said, the Assam Chief Minister should be served with notice right now. "It is the police's job to apprehend the Assam chief minister."
