According to the state government website, Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao, also known as KCR, was born on February 17, 1954, in Chintamadaka, Medak District. He is also the founder of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), a political party that was in the forefront of the push for Telangana's statehood. He has served in the Legislative Assembly for many periods, representing various seats. He has also served as a Member of Parliament as a Cabinet Minister for Labour and Employment.
Chandrashekar Rao's Telangana Rashtra Samithi won 88 seats in the 2018 Assembly elections, and KCR was sworn in as Chief Minister of Telangana for the second time on December 13, 2018.
