An Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) member claims that he was beaten by a police team in Tinsukia's Kakopathar for no obvious cause just hours after the Nagaon incident.

Manoj Talukdar, an AJYCP member, said that he was beaten by a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and a few others. Talukdar's brother said that he was attacked by cops in the middle of the road and then told to "run away." He went on to say that there seemed to be a conspiracy.

In an interview with the media, Talukdar stated that he had no idea why he was attacked by the police. He stated that he was stopped by the police around 6:30 p.m. while he was returning home from a party.

"The cops wanted to know why I was driving so fast while I wasn't." When I denied the allegation, the cops slapped me and told me to go," he said. "I was instructed to run maybe because they planned to shoot me like Kirtti Kamal Bora," he continued. Following the event, members of the district AJYCP urged that the police officers involved be severely punished.
