The first day of the massive countrywide corona vaccination drive was conducted successfully in India. Hojai deputy commissioner of Dr. Sadnek Singh formally launched the much-awaited vaccination drive in the district. Former MLA and physician Dr. Aditya Langthasa was the first person to be vaccinated in Hojai.
The vaccination drive was launched by the deputy commissioner at Jugijaan Model Hospital in Hojai in the presence of other officials and the health staff.
On the first day of the vaccination drive in India, a total of 3,352 sessions were held wherein 1,91,181 beneficiaries were vaccinated as per the provisional reports. The Union Health Ministry said, “Additional 3,429 beneficiaries were vaccinated in the defence institutions. As many as 16,755 personnel were actively involved in organizing the immunization session sites."
