Guwahati: Flood havoc continues in Assam. Here 20 districts have come under flood. Due to which the number of people affected in the state has increased to 6 lakh 2 thousand. Disaster Management Authority has given information in this regard. On giving information in a bulletin, Assam State Disaster Management Authority said that two more people have died by drowning in the flood waters.

According to the bulletin, two people died at different places. One person died in Kokrajhar while the other died in Dhubri. With two deaths, the number of people who lost their lives due to the flood has risen to 66. According to the authority, Dhemaji district has been the worst hit. After that Barpeta and Lakhimpur are flood affected. The flood-affected districts include Charaidev, Vishwanath, Baksa, Nalbari, Chirang, Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, Gwalpara, Morigaon, Nagaon, Golaghat and Tinsukia.

On giving information in the bulletin, it has been told that 6 lakh 2 thousand people have been affected due to floods in 20 districts. Many villages have been submerged. A total of 11 thousand 9 villages have been submerged in the state. Flood water has also caused heavy damage to crops. Crops planted in about 46 thousand 82 hectare area have been drowned. The Brahmaputra river is flowing above the danger mark in many areas.
