Dispur: The floods in Assam have affected the lives of more than 57 lakh people so far. The Assam State Disaster Management Authority in its daily report on Tuesday has informed that more than 57 lakh 70 thousand persons living in 30 cities of the state have been affected due to floods.

The authority said, "The flood has affected the lives of 57, 75643 persons living in 30 cities of Assam. In addition, 119 persons have lost their lives due to floods." ASDMA further said "In view of the situation in the state, 627 relief camps have been set up for the flood affected people in which 1, 56991 persons have taken shelter".

In addition, teams of National Disaster Response Force have been deployed at eight locations in the state. The teams of state disaster Response Force have been deployed in 40 different locations. As per the report, SDRF, NDRF, Circle Office, Civil Defence, IWT and local persons are engaged in relief operations. In addition, about 390 boats have been deployed for assistance. There has been a flood situation in the state for the last several weeks due to which people are facing a lot of problems.
