Assam gets Rs 51.53 crore in relief funds from the Centre

The government of India has released Rs 51.53 crore to Assam, which has been hit by floods and landslides earlier this year.

The funds donated to Assam is part of a total of Rs 3063.21 crore given to six states that have been affected by floods and landslides.The money was taken from the National Disaster Relief Fund (NDRF).

The additional federal aid of Rs 3,063.21 crore to the six states was agreed by a high-level committee led by union home minister Amit Shah. Gujarat, which was hit by cyclone 'Tauktae,' received Rs 1133.35 crore, while West Bengal, which was hit by cyclone 'Yaas,' received Rs 586.59 crore.

Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand received Rs 504.06 crore, Rs 600.50 crore and Rs 187.18 crore respectively.
