Guwahati: Assam government has sealed the mosque in Guwahati where the Coronavirus infected people stayed. Last month, three people stayed here to attend a religious program and later they were confirmed to have coronavirus infection. State Health Minister Hemant Biswa Sarma has given this information.

52 Tablighi Jamaat members living in 13 mosques of Delhi test positive for corona

On giving information, Sarma has told that two of them came back to Assam after attending the Tablighi Jamaat program in Nizamuddin area of Delhi. The third person stayed with them in the Athagaon graveyard mosque and went to Dhubri with one of them. At least a hundred people attended the event on March 12 at the mosque and the organizers have so far named 58 people and all of them have been placed in isolation.

Sarma said, "Much later it was brought to our notice that the event had taken place and we have asked the organizers to provide a list of all the people attending it." He said that the mosque has been sealed and it has been declared an infected area and no one is allowed to enter or leave. The administration will provide essential goods to the mosque maintainers and other office bearers inside the mosque.
