Two elephants have been deployed by the forest department in Lower Majuli to chase away a rhino that has been terrorising locals for more than two months. According to a forest department source, there had been repeated attempts to chase the rhino away in the past, but they had all failed.

The rhino had been terrorising people for months, and one person had even been killed during one of the rhino's attacks. The forest authorities finally decided to deploy trained elephants from Kaziranga to chase the rhino back to the Kaziranga National Park in order to control and chase the rhino away. Lakhiprasad and Hariprasad, the two elephants, are brothers.

They have received particular training to deal with rhino issues and are not terrified of wild rhinos. The forest team is confident that with the help of the two brothers, they will be able to locate the rhino and return it to the forest by Saturday. Drones are tracking the rhino, and villagers have been warned to stay away from areas where the rhino has been spotted. A team of experts had previously been in Majuli to control and rehabilitate the rhino, but it had also failed.

The rhino has been in the Kerela Chapori region for about two months, according to a forest department employee who spoke about the situation. After both of them came face to face with the rhino, the rhino attacked a farmer called Madan Das.
