On February 1, the Assam government will launch a citizen-centric 'Sadbhavana' initiative to give citizens with timely administrative help and approvals. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Friday that the state's civil secretariat will be crucial to the plan's success.

At Dispur, the Chief Minister was meeting with staff of the Assam civil secretariat. According to Sarma, the civil secretariat is the epicentre of state administration.  To make the authorities better responsive, the Sadbhavana plan calls for the disposal of outdated official files that have been waiting for years and are impacting particular needs.

Sarma, who stressed that citizens are an important part of the state administration, added that state officials must demonstrate sensitivity when dealing with pending cases. He also stated that the state government will implement an e-office system in accordance with the proposal.

The state government would inaugurate 'Swacchata Abhiyan' in Janata Bhawan, which houses the Assam civil secretariat, to coincide with the project.
