Guwahati: Bharlumukh police on Wednesday arrested a man for allegedly sexually assaulting a boy. The incident took place on Tuesday night at Lachit Ghat in Makhkhowa. According to the incident, the victim minor used to earn his livelihood by cleaning the ears of the people daily. On the day of the incident, the alleged transgender miscreant had earlier snatched all his belongings. Later raped her by tying her near the construction site of the new bridge connecting South Guwahati and North Guwahati.

The arrested accused has been identified as Noor Ahmed alias Niki Ahmed (22). After registering a case at Bharlumukh police station, police action has been initiated (782/2021 u/s 342 IPC R/W Section 4 of Children from Sexual Offenses Act-2012). Special DGP (Law and Order) GP Singh said, “For the protection of children refer sexual assault on a minor boy at Lachit Ghat, Makhkhowa (Bharlumukh PS Case No. 782/2021 U/S 342 IPC R/W Section 4 ) From the Sexual Offenses Act 2012) accused Noor Ahmed alias Nikki Ahmed (22) has been arrested.

In another transgender incident, a journalist described his encounter with a transgender on social media. According to him, on Monday in Dhupdhora, Assam, the transgender abused, attacked and threatened to kill. Such incidents are happening every day in Assam, for which the police need to take strong steps.
