Three people were detained by Karimganj police on Wednesday along with 33,000 bottles of cough syrup worth around Rs 2 crore that were found on a truck near the Tripura-Assam border.
The apprehended culprits were identified as Jilani, Anaz and Abrar.
On the basis of a tip-off, the police team from the Churaibari police watch post in the Karimganj area stopped a truck, and during the course of their investigation, they discovered several cough syrup bottles concealed within the vehicle.
The vehicle was on its way from Uttar Pradesh to Agartala in Tripura, according to the police.
