Guwahati: Acting on a tip-off, Assam police on Sunday arrested four persons and seized heroin worth of over Rs 15 crore from their possession in two different incidents. According to a release from the state police headquarters, police conducted naka- checking and intercepted a truck carrying 3.45 kg heroin in Karbi Anglong district.
According to the report, Assam police on Sunday arrested four persons and seized the banned drugs worth of over Rs 15 crore from their possession. In one of the incidents, heroin was seized after the police received specific information and intercepted a truck carrying 3.45 kg heroin in Karbi Anglong. Two persons, both residents of Manipur, were arrested and booked under the NDPS Act. The seized drugs were en-route to Guwahati from Imphal.
A team of Assam police raided a house and seized 88 containers with 1 mg suspected heroin each min Morigaon district in the second incident. Several other items stolen from temples and Jagiroad Paper Mill recovered in the seize. According to the release, a couple has been arrested and booked under sections of the Indian Penal Code and the NDPS Act.
