Ahead of Diwali, Assam's Pollution Control Board has banned the bursting and sale of all types of firecrackers except eco-friendly crackers in the state. In fact, in compliance with the directions of the National Green Tribunal (NGT), the order to curb air pollution during the festive season has been asked to remain in force till further notification. Recently, PCB Chairman Arup Kumar Mishra informed, "The state pollution body has also asked all deputy commissioners and superintendents of police of the state to implement the directions. '

Accordingly, the PCB has also asked the state police to take action to stop the supply of firecrackers. On the other hand, it is the responsibility of the police and the administration to nab those who store illegal firecrackers here. Now the police and the operation have to ensure that the use of firecrackers is stopped as PCB only issues advice and instructions. The report of daily action taken in the State should also be submitted to the PCB. However, it has been said that people can burst green crackers during two hours on Diwali. Let us tell you that every year on Diwali night, the ambient air of the city takes it to dangerous levels and this increases the pollution level in winter.

Keeping this in view, a ban has been imposed on bursting and selling firecrackers. On the other hand, in view of the possible decline in air quality in the capital Delhi with the beginning of October, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced a ban on storage, sale and use of all types of firecrackers.
