Guwahati: Vice President Venkaiah Naidu today inaugurated the Mahabahu Brahmaputra River Heritage Centre at Panbazar in Guwahati, Assam. Yes, let me tell you all that a heritage-cum-cultural centre has been set up on the site of the old DC bungalow in Guwahati. As part of the information received, the new heritage centre in Guwahati is now home to antiques showcasing the "rich heritage" of Assam.

Recently, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "Hon'ble VP Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu inaugurated the Mahabahu Brahmaputra River Heritage Centre at Panbazar in Guwahati. It contains ancient articles showcasing our rich heritage.'' Let me tell you all that Naidu has also inaugurated the PET-MRI Wing at the State Cancer Institute at Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH).

In GMCH, the new PET-MRI wing, "the first of its kind" in the North-East, has been built at a cost of Rs 62 crore. Today, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "Goa is implementing the cancer care model distributed in the state in partnership with Tata Trust to provide timely and effective treatment to cancer patients. The objective is to create a patient-centric cancer institute to provide standardized and affordable cancer care.''
