New Delhi: Polling has started in the by-elections for one assembly seat each in Uttar Pradesh, Tripura and Chhattisgarh. Polling is being held today for Hamirpur in UP, Badharghat in Tripura and Naxal-affected Dantewada seat in Chhattisgarh. It is to be known that on April 1, BJP MLA Bhima Mandavi was killed in the Naxalite attack. Due to which this seat was vacant. Talking about Dantewada, there are 1,88,263 voters here. Which includes 89,747 males and 98,876 females. 27 centres have been set up for voting. 18,000 Supervisors have been deployed in view of voting. Including paramilitary forces and drones to conduct elections in the region in a peaceful manner.

The counting of votes will take place on 27 September. Today, 4,01,697 voters will decide the fate of nine candidates in the Sadar assembly seat in Hamirpur, UP. This was vacated after BJP MLA Ashok Singh Chandel was sentenced to life imprisonment in the mass murder case. Now in this seat, Yuvraj Singh from BJP, Naushad Ali from BSP, Dr Manoj Prajapati from SP, Hardeepak Nishad from Congress and Jamal Alam Mansuri from Communist Party of India are selected for the respective seats.

The Badharghat assembly seat of Tripura is located in West Tripura district and the state capital Agartala also comes under it. The by-elections are being held here in April this year due to the death of ruling BJP MLA Dilip Sarkar. BJP has nominated Mimi Majumdar for this seat, CPIM has made Bulti Biswas and Congress has nominated Ratan Das. Please tell that the Election Commission has recently announced the dates for the assembly elections in 18 states of the country.
