Assembly election 2018: Congress in lead in 4 states as per early trends,TRS is ahead in Telangana

The counting began at 8 am today under high security in the counting halls across all five states five states - Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram. The early trends have started coming for the Assembly elections and it suggests that Congress is ahead in all the states expecting Telangana. In young state Telangana, TRS is in lead.

The Congress seems to be taking a clear lead in Rajasthan with the early trends showing the Congress ahead in more than 40 seats while the BJP trailing behind with a little over 20 seats. However, these are very early trends.

According to most exit, the BJP is set to face disappointment in both Rajasthan and Chhatisgarh, while it's a tough competition in MP. In all the three states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhatisgarh, the BJP has been facing criticism on several fronts, including unemployment to agrarian crises to its inability to curb fringe elements.

The victory in these elections is very important for the congress party as it will provide a much needed momentum ahead of the General Elections in 2019. The outcome of this election will effect directly to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
