Counting of votes for the assembly elections in five states is being held today. Yes, and the counting of votes has started at 8 this morning. The whole country is waiting for the result coming from this counting because this election will decide the outline of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections! In such a situation, you all must have known that assembly elections have been held in a total of seven phases in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur. The last phase was concluded on March 7.

In such a situation, all the parties were eagerly waiting for the counting of votes for the assembly elections, however, the results of the exit polls have increased the pulse of the parties. In fact, according to the exit polls, the BJP is making a comeback to the government in Uttarakhand, UP and Manipur, while in Goa, there is a fork fight in which the Congress is ahead of the BJP. On the other hand, the Aam Aadmi Party government is being formed in Punjab. Now the trends have also started coming. On the other hand, following the controversy over EVMs in Uttar Pradesh, the Commission announced the removal of three officials, including the nodal officer related to EVMs in Varanasi.

The commission's move came after a huge controversy triggered by the Samajwadi Party's (SP) allegation that electronic voting machines (EVMs) were being transferred in an unauthorised manner. With this, the Commission has deployed more than 50,000 officials for counting of votes in about 1,200 halls in five states and counting is taking place with corona protocol from 8 am amid tight security.
