Jammu: Girish Chandra Murmu, the Lieutenant Governor in Jammu, again hinted at holding assembly elections in the state and said that power should go into the hands of the public as soon as possible. The administration wants the government to be elected by the people in Jammu and Kashmir and the situation is normal in Jammu and Kashmir and efforts are on to form the government.

It is also being said that after the inauguration of the 72-meter long bridge in Drass in the district, the Lieutenant Governor told the journalists that the power should go into the hands of the public as soon as possible. This is what we are always saying. When asked about the election deadline, it said that it has its own procedure.

It has been confirmed that he also held talks with Chairman Budhal and a delegation of sarpanches of that region. Where he said that a mega sarpanch conclave will be organized soon for strengthening and capacity building of elected representatives. The successful conduct of Panchayat and BDC elections will go a long way in ensuring development at the grassroots. The delegation has also given a memorandum related to development related issues.
