Patna: Many incidents related to alcohol have been reported in prohibition-ridden Bihar. Even after the liquor ban, liquor bottles are recovered from many cities of Bihar. In such a situation, cases of liquor smuggling and illegal trade of liquor keep coming to the fore.

The speaker of the Bihar Assembly has also raised questions on the functioning of the Bihar Police on prohibition. On Thursday, Bihar Assembly Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha came down heavily on the Bihar police, questioning the Nitish government's police, saying that if the Bihar police catch 100 bottles of liquor, only 5 bottles of liquor are shown.

The same assembly speaker took a dig at the police, saying that the morale of the police has increased a lot. Top police officers don't even listen to the Speaker. Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha said that due to the cowardice and weakness of Bihar police, liquor smugglers in Bihar are able to sell liquor. Liquor cannot be sold in any area without the cowardice and weakness of the administration. Vijay Kumar Sinha said that if the administration is honest in any area of Bihar, then why is liquor not caught there? In fact, there was a lot of uproar over the cultural ceremony organized in Lakhisarai, the assembly constituency of Assembly Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha, in the wake of Saraswati Puja. In this event, the video of the bar balas dancing as well as waving the weapons of some persons also went viral. After the video went viral on social media, the police swung into action and arrested two persons who had nothing to do with the incident.
