AstraZeneca pauses trials for COVID-19 vaccine; know more

After the global Pandemic, all the pharma institute of the world had used their technology to find a cure for the disease. In a similar race, AstraZeneca which is a British-Swedish multinational pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical company had faced a setback in the experiment. As per the reports, in the late-stage studies of AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine on the candidate are on temporary hold while the company is examining whether a receiver's 'potentially unexplained illness' is a side effect of the shot or not. In a statement issued on Tuesday evening, the company said that in a standard review process triggered a pause to vaccination. It is done to ensure a review of safety of data.

AstraZeneca officials didn't reveal any news about the possible side effect. The officials just called it 'a potentially unexplained illness'. In the last month, AstraZeneca began picking 30,000 people in the US for the study of its vaccine on a larger scale. It is also examining the vaccine, developed by Oxford University, in thousands of people in Britain, and in smaller studies in Brazil and South Africa.

Two other vaccines are in huge, final-stage tests in the United States, one made by Moderna Inc. and the other by Pfizer and Germany's BioNTech. Those two vaccines work differently than AstraZeneca's, and the organizations already have recruited about two-thirds of the required volunteers.
