Hindupur (Anantapur): Presiding over a hospital development meeting at the government hospital here on Friday, District Collector Nagalakshmi Selvarajan revealed that several complaints were being received on irregular and late attendance of doctors and medical personnel. Disciplinary action will be taken against those who are late for work. Very few surgeries are being performed and fewer institutional deliveries are registered. He suggested that at least 250 deliveries should be done in a month. He cautioned the medical personnel against laziness towards work.

The doctors informed the Collector that the hospital was facing problems with regard to extension of diagnostic services as the hospital's MoU with a private service center had expired. The Collector advised the hospital authorities to immediately renew the contract and restore the clinical counts. He said that clinical services in the hospital should also be resumed.

The Hospital Development Committee was also advised to submit an audit report on hospital expenditure in the last financial year. Two women medical officers will be made available to promote institutional deliveries, the Collector assured. He asked the committee to make necessary hospital appointments of technicians. Hospital Superintendent Dr Ramesh Nath, Dr Shiv Kumar, RMO Rukminamma and others participated. Joint Collector Dr A Siri presided.
