During the late Queen's procession on Wednesday, royalists noticed that Meghan Markle took a different car from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall. Meghan rode in the same car as Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, the wife of Prince Edward, while the Queen Consort Camilla and the new Princess of Wales Kate Middleton arrived in another. This delineation was made due to Meghan's royal standing, according to Page Six.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry gave up their lofty positions and acquired new titles as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex after leaving the royal family and relocating to the US. Meghan had to ride in a different car than Kate and Camilla due to their difference in status. Prince Harry had to follow the rules of the royal hierarchy just as Meghan was required to.

Harry had to refrain from donning his military uniform, worn by higher-ranking royals such as Prince William, King Charles III, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward as they walked behind the Queen's casket. Harry did participate in the procession and walked alongside his brother William, the new Prince of Wales, during the late Queen's coffin procession on the streets of Buckingham Palace.

While this was going on, Meghan and Harry once again attracted attention when they opted to hold hands as they left Westminster Hall, which infuriated some royalists who felt that their PDA was needless and impolite. However, there were also people who defended the pair for just supporting one another while under extreme stress and pain.
