Davinder Singh Kang, a bronze medalist in the javelin throw at the Asian Athletics Championships, has said that he failed doping due to medications taken for a sore throat but he had informed about these drugs in the past and hence he was disciplined. He has fully expected to get a clean chit in the hearing. Kang's sample was taken in August last year in which son dexamethasone was found, which appears in the World Anti-Doping Agency's (WADA) banned substances list. It is used for diseases related to the throat and lungs.

Kang said about this time, 'I had an infection in my throat before Indian Grand Prix 5 last year. I took permission from the team management and then consulted a personal doctor in Patiala who gave me two medicines, Moxitas 500 and Son Dexamethosan. These drugs are the reason for dope test results.' He further said, 'When the people of Nada came to take a sample, I told them about these two medicines. I will put my point before Nada and hope that I will be freed from the doping charges. '

If Kang Nada fails to assure the disciplinary panel, then he can also be banned for 8 years as this is going to be his second case related to doping. Earlier in 2018, Marijuana was found in his sample after which he was reprimanded and released.
