Lucknow: In Prayagraj, former Samajwadi Party (SP) MP and gangster Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed were shot dead by three miscreants at around 10:37 p.m. on Saturday night. At the same time, after this incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered a high-level inquiry into the sensational murders. Section 144 has been imposed in all the districts of the state to maintain law and order. The three assailants, posing as journalists, killed the two gangster brothers when the policemen were taking them to the medical college for examination.
The Special DG of Law and Order, Prashant Kumar, has informed that "CM has constituted a three-member judicial commission to investigate the murder of Atiq and Ashraf." He told that three attackers were arrested on the spot and that a detailed investigation of the case is being done. After the Prayagraj incident, the CM called a high-level meeting in Lucknow, after which he ordered an inquiry. After arresting the three accused who killed Atiq and Ashraf, the police are now interrogating them. According to sources, all three have been identified as Lavlesh Tiwari, Arun Maurya, and Sunny. Lavlesh Tiwari is a resident of Banda, Arun Maurya Hamirpur, and Sunny Kasganj. During interrogation, the accused said that they wanted to become a big mafia, so they carried out this incident. However, there is a contradiction in the statements of all three.
