There has been a new twist in Delhi politics as Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi has taken oath as the Chief Minister. Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena administered the oath to her in a simple ceremony held at Raj Niwas on September 21. Atishi has now become the third and youngest woman Chief Minister of Delhi. Along with her, several MLAs also took oath as ministers, including Gopal Rai, Saurabh Bhardwaj, Kailash Gehlot, Imran Hussain, and Mukesh Ahlawat.
Arvind Kejriwal's resignation
Earlier, on September 17, Arvind Kejriwal resigned from the post of Chief Minister after being released on bail from Tihar Jail in a case related to the excise policy. After this, Atishi was unanimously elected as the leader of the legislature party in the Aam Aadmi Party Legislature Party meeting.
About Atishi
Atishi is an MLA from Kalkaji in Delhi. She has held the responsibility of several departments like Education, PWD, Power, Tourism, and Women and Child Development in Arvind Kejriwal's government. She is also a member of the Aam Aadmi Party's political affairs committee. Atishi obtained a master's degree in history from Oxford University in 2003 and has been active in the party since the inception of AAP.

Saurabh Bhardwaj: Saurabh is an MLA from Greater Kailash assembly seat in Delhi. He has handled ministries like health, urban development, and tourism in Arvind Kejriwal's government. Earlier, he has been the chairman of Delhi Jal Board.
Kailash Gehlot: Kailash Gehlot is an MLA from Najafgarh assembly seat and has handled important departments like transport, revenue, and information technology. He was also in the news recently for hoisting the tricolor at Chhatrashaal Stadium in Delhi.
Gopal Rai: Gopal Rai is the Delhi in-charge of Aam Aadmi Party and is considered one of the most experienced leaders. He has handled the responsibility of environment and other ministries and has been a close associate of Arvind Kejriwal since the time of the Anna movement.
Imran Hussain: Imran is an MLA from Ballimaran assembly seat and he is a two-time MLA. He has held the charge of the Ministry of Food and Civil Supplies and is an alumnus of Jamia Millia Islamia University.
Mukesh Ahlawat: Mukesh is an MLA from Sultanpur Mazra in Delhi and has become a minister for the first time. He contested the 2020 elections from AAP and before that this seat has been a stronghold of the Congress.
