We know that in our Telugu tradition, women practice many vows and noses to give saubhyagna. But the 'Attadi' festival, which is celebrated every year after Vijayadashmi, is unique. Special pujas are offered to Gowri on this festival to prosper with them and the whole family. Women perform the Gowri Devi Vrat, offer the moon light as nivedhana and offer vayanas to the mutaidu. According to the Puranas, Gowri devi first performed this vow on the advice of Narada to make Lord Shiva the lord. The Scriptures also say that women are prosperous with the grace of the power of the moon.

On such days, they are given special place. We see the use of black gram and rice in our homes. There is also a story in the puranas. The mints are grains of Rahu and rice for the moon. Scholars say that the grain syrup is made as a nivedhana and the donation of the vayanas will remove the womb defects. In the navagrahas, Mars is the mahaprati of the navagraha and the elders say that if they are offered as nivedhana, mars dosha will not be interrupted and there will be no obstacle sinto marriage. Women are one of the favorite festivals celebrated by women in villages.
