Ranchi: In Jharkhand, police were fatally attacked by villagers at Ranga police station under Chief Minister Hemant Soren's assembly constituency Berhet. Police were attacked with stones,  and arrows and their jeep was also badly damaged. It is learnt that the police had reached there to arrest a human trafficking accused. But that's when the villagers attacked and the police had to flee to save their lives.

It is reported that the police had gone to arrest the accused Savitri Karmakar in a human trafficking case at around 12 pm. Now the people in the village had already come to know that the policemen were coming and as soon as SI Pramod Tudu, SI Bharti Kumari, Case IO ASI Kamaljit Chaudhary led by police station in-charge Aman Kumar Singh reached the spot, they were attacked by villagers.

Before they could take any action, the villagers seemed to be danger and they had to flee the spot. It is said that the villagers did not like the police coming at night, which was the reason why they gave such a violent reaction.
