In a typical football game, goalkeepers are meant to protect the goal posts. They are meant to save the goals rather than scoring the goals. In an amazing event, South African goalkeeper Oscarine Masuluke, scoring a goal that suitable fits for the best goal of the year.

The incident was recorded at South African Premier league match between the playing teams Baroka FC and Orlando Pirates. The games were in the 95th minute and Baroka was losing with 1-0 at the moment. The match was called for a corner kick at the moment. As the opponent team punched in the corner kick, Oscarine Masuluke strikes it out.It wasn’t a good clearance and Masuluke went after it. He was at the edge of the penalty area and had his back to the goal when he attempted an audacious overhead kick. He seemed to have hit the ball right at the sweet spot as it soared above everyone else and ended up at the back of the net.

Now we can see this goal is going to be the contender for the 2017 Puskas award which is given to the best goal of the year. This is not for the first time that a goalkeeper has scored a goal to the opponents. Manchester United stalwart Peter Schmeichel had scored against Russian side Rotor Volgograd in the UEFA Cup while Everton’s Tim Howard famously scored from his own penalty area against Bolton. But there are few forwards who have scored goals as audacious as the one scored by Masuluke, let alone goalkeepers.
