'Aurangzeb committed genocide, I should not have gone to his tomb..,' Tikait admits mistake

Lucknow: Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait reached Mundhapande toll plaza in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. Where Tikait was warmly welcomed by the farmers. A large number of farmers gathered at the toll plaza on the information of Rakesh Tikait's arrival and everyone welcomed him with a garland. Tikait was on his way to attend a mahapanchayat in Lakhimpur via Moradabad.

During this, Rakesh Tikait admitted his mistake in front of the media and said that I should not have gone to Aurangzeb's tomb. In fact, Rakesh Tikait was facing huge opposition all over the country for going to Aurangzeb's tomb. When asked about which he was questioned, he said that it was his fault, he should not have gone to Aurangzeb's tomb. The farmer leader further said that there are many temples built there. There is also a Shiva temple, Jainism, and Ellora caves.

Tikait said that in fact, it is a valley before Delhi was the capital of Tughlaqabad. The capital of that time remains there. Aurangzeb's tomb is also present on the same premises. He said that I should not have gone to the tomb of Aurangzeb. Aurangzeb's tomb is a disputed place. The public's protest against my visiting Aurangzeb's tomb was justified. Many people were massacred during his time in Aurangzeb.
