Aurobindo Pharma and CSIR working together for corona vaccine

CSIR, the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research and Aurobindo Pharma Ltd. announced on Tuesday that the coronavirus will work together to make the vaccine. A press release from the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) said that a partnership has been set up between CSIR-CCMB and Oberoi Pharma to create a vaccine for coronavirus.

It says that three CSIR labs are making vaccines through different tech platforms from CCMB Hyderabad, Institute of Medical Technology, Chandigarh and Indica Institute of Chemical Biology, Kolkata. Aurobindo will test the clinical development and commercialization of these vaccines. Dr Shekhar Mande, DG, CSIR, said that this partnership has helped India's effort to produce indigenous vaccines and will help us to prepare against the future epidemics.

Dr Rakesh Mishra, Director, CSIR-CCMB, said that the institute's labs are working on proteins for the vaccine, which is going to have the capacity to meet the requirement of the second-generation vaccine. Aurobindo Pharma has proved its manufacturing and business potential, we are happy to partner with them," he said, on the partnership for the vaccine, he is proud to join the fight against the coronavirus pandemic and is building a major facility in Hyderabad to build it.
