CANBERRA: In Wednesday, Australians will commorate one of the most important dates on their national calendar “Australia Day 2022” with a variety of large and small events.

According to reports, Australia Day is generally a summer holiday marked by family gatherings, picnics and barbecues, sunning on the beach, and going to outdoor concerts, with many patriotic revellers bedecked with temporary tattoos featuring the country flag.

The largest city, Sydney, offers a jam-packed calendar of activities around the harbour, beginning with a Morning Ceremony with Aboriginal artwork projected onto the Sydney Opera House's "sails." An Air Force aerial display, a race including 19th-century sailing ships, a boat regatta, a concert, and fireworks in the evening will all take place around the port.

Meanwhile, Skyworks, one of the country's largest Australia Day celebrations, will take place on the Swan River foreshores in Perth, Western Australia's capital (WA)

Throughout the epidemic, WA has had the nation's harshest border control measures, which led to the cancellation of last year's Skyworks, and there were concerns that this may happen again in 2022.
