On Sunday,  Just minutes after claiming his record seventh Australian Open title in Melbourne Park after defeating  second-seeded Rafael Nadal 6-3, 6-2, 6-3 , Novak Djokovic showed  that he would like to take a shot at inching closer to Roger Federer's record all-time Grand Slam total. Djokovic's seventh Australian Open trophy took his Grand Slam tally to 15, keeping him five clear off Federer's tally. 

At the Rod Laver Arena having swept of the Wimbledon and US Open trophy in 2018 Djokovic managed his third straight Grand Slam trophy. After reaching the tally of 15, Djokovic now stands behind Federer (20) and Nadal (17) on the all-time Grand Slam list. When asked about his thought on catching Federer's record Djokovic did not shy away from expressing his desire to emerge as the Greatest of All Time in the game of tennis. 

Djokovic said that “He is  aware that making history of the sport that  he truly love is something special,”He further added that “Of course, it motivates him. Playing Grand Slams, is his  utmost priority in this season and in seasons to come. How many seasons are to come? He doesn't know. He is not trying to think too much advance. He does want to definitely focus himself on continuing to improve my game and maintaining the overall wellbeing that He has mental, physical, emotional, so he  would be able to compete at such a high level for the years to come. And have a shot at eventually getting closer to Roger's record. It's still far."

However , Djokovic will have to win his five more Grand Slams to equal Federer's record while expecting that the Swiss Maestro does not add another title of glory to his already crowded hat. Djokovic will now head to Roland Garros to dethrone the King of Clay and win his second French Open title and become the second player in history to twice hold all four Grand Slam titles at the same time, equalling the feat of legend Rod Laver.
