India Prime Minister Narendra Modi was welcomed to Australia by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese today for a two-day visit. The 'very warm reception' the prime minister received in India earlier this year was another memory he recalled.

Prime Minister Albanese was quoted as saying in a statement from the Australian government: "I am honoured to host Prime Minister Modi for an official visit to Australia, after receiving an incredibly warm welcome in India earlier this year." "A peaceful, safe, and prosperous Indo-Pacific is a goal shared by Australia and India. Together, we can support this ambition in a significant way. The relationship between our nations as friends and partners has never been tighter. I'm excited to celebrate Sydney's thriving Indian community with Prime Minister Modi.
