Uttar Pradesh is going to start running 700 electric buses in India. For smooth and better operation of electric buses in these cities of Uttar Pradesh, the Remote Sensing Application Center, Lucknow is mapping all the routes for this. Electric buses will be operated in 14 cities of Uttar Pradesh, these buses can also be tracked with Google Map.

The central government has given one year for the introduction of electric buses in select cities. There is a need to prepare the infrastructure for the same.

A private firm has been contracted to run electric buses in 14 cities of the state. A total of 700 electric buses will run on 130 routes in these 14 cities. Out of these 700 electric buses, 600 buses will be run in 11 cities of the state under the Fame-2 scheme. In other cities, electric vehicles will run under the state scheme.
