Once again Hyundai Motors is about to launch another new SUV soon. The SUV, named as Hyundai Nexa, will be launched in India soon but the new SUV will be electric. This will be the second electric SUV after the Hyundai Kona EV to be launched in India. This SUV will be equipped with hydrogen fuel cells and will have a range of 1000 km. The hydrogen fuel cells coming in it give power to the electric motor in the vehicle. It is said that FCEV filters up to 99.9 per cent of polluted elements.

According to Nexo sources it refills in just five minutes, while an electric car takes at least one hour in full charging. Recently, a study has been done under this government's zero emission mobility vision. Hyundai introduced this SUV at the Idea-Korea Summit held in Delhi last year. At the same time, the company can launch it by 2021. At present, apart from Hyundai, no other car company has announced to make or launch hydrogen-powered fuel-cell cars. Japanese car company Toyota has shown interest in hydrogen fuel cell cars, but currently its focus is on launching low-priced electric and hybrid technology cars. At the same time, Tata Motors has also shown interest in making fuel-powered buses.

According to the report of Europe's World Harmonized Light Duty Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP), they have a range of 600 km due to the hydrogen fuel cells in the Nexo. The CEO of Hyundai Motor India claims that the Nexo to be launched in India will cover distances of up to 1,000 km. The Nexo's electric motor found abroad gives 163 PS of power and 395 Nmm of torque. At the same time, it can hold a speed of 0 to 100 km in just 9.2 seconds. The total tank capacity of Nexo is 156.6 liters. It consists of three hydrogen tanks and each holds 52.2 liters. The Nexo will have five doors and will be a five-seater sports utility vehicle and will be longer than the country's best-selling mid-size SUV Creta.
