As part of the amendment, serial number 71 has been changed to add LA to Ladakh in 17A. After this, cars with LA number plates will be seen in Ladakh.

It is to be noted that despite the order of the Supreme Court, so far 50 lakh scooter-bikes and 21 lakh cars have not been installed high security number plates in the capital Delhi. High security number plates are already installed in all trains coming from 2012 onwards, whereas earlier trains do not have a high security number plate. At the same time, high security number plates can be installed in only 2.6 lakh vehicles from October 2, 2018.
